In the 1940s
During the 1940s, the Catala Club and the Faculty Wives Club continued to be strong presences on campus. The Catala Club continued to have many fundraisers each year in order to provide financial aid to students, while the Faculty Wives Club hosted many social gatherings, such as Christmas parties.
The role of women on campus during the 1940s was still a non-academic one and consisted of fashion shows, parties and social events. Gender roles at the time dictated these as "feminine things" which is, again, understandable in the historical context.
The continued presence and importance of these clubs contributed to the normalization of women on campus, and their involvement duties in and for the community spoke to their capabilities.
